iCoat Artisan Lumberlust Digs Deep with Caterpillar

iCoat artisan Lumberlust recently had the opportunity to create a signature art piece for Caterpillar’s new Camelback office, a realistic miniature jobsite captured inside a deep-pour resin table.

The project began when Caterpillar’s creative team reached out with AI-generated concept art and asked if it could be built in real life. Turning that digital idea into a physical, high-detail installation required extensive planning, prototyping, and craftsmanship.

Ryan Walsh from Lumberlust said, “The most challenging stage was the groundwork: sculpting realistic terrain, dug trenches, and authentic track patterns to match how heavy machinery would actually shape the soil. Once the miniature die-cast CAT excavator and tractor models were precisely staged, every component had to be prepped for a flawless deep pour, no bubbles, no debris, no movement.”

The final result? A striking fusion of artistry and engineering that brings the jobsite to the boardroom.

Seeing it revealed at Caterpillar’s new office this week was an incredible moment for our team. And as proud as we are of the digital concepts, we still believe: nothing beats the real thing.
