Description
This is a high-gloss, clear, non-yellowing, single-component urethane dispersion that dries quickly. It is ideal for sealing and priming live-edge wood before pouring epoxy. U2112 also works as an exceptional topcoat for finished wood pieces. This fast-drying urethane sealer can be applied in multiple coats and sanded between layers for a smooth finish. It is one of the best ways to seal wood to help prevent and minimize outgassing and bubbles that may form in wood projects before applying epoxy coatings.
Best Used For: Priming or sealing wood surfaces to help prevent outgassing before applying epoxy. It can also be used on tumblers as a quick tack layer for glitter, eliminating the need for fast-set epoxies that tend to yellow over time. Use U2112 as a base coat on tumblers so you can apply glitter and decorative elements before adding the final epoxy clear coat. U2112 also works well as a sealer for wood decks and other surfaces where moisture may be present. Additionally, it makes an exceptional topcoat for finished wood pieces.
Cure Speed: Dry time is between 30-45 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity.
Mix Ratio: Single Component
Typical Coverage: Smooth, sealed surfaces: about 350–500 sq ft per gallon per coat. Bare wood / porous surfaces: about 200–350 sq ft per gallon per coat.
Important Notes: U2112 Wood Primer/Sealer is NOT an epoxy resin but can be used as a fast-set option in many similar applications where a fast-set epoxy may have been used.
